Big database upgrade underway! Low counts will ‘catch up’ January 10, 2007

Hi everyone, as promised in earlier posts, we are now beginning the ‘migration’ of one large collection of users to a new faster processing configuration. This will affect users with HTML thumbnail maps supplied by ‘server 1’, which you can identify because your HTML code contains portions like this:

http://clustrmaps.com/counter…

(as opposed to ‘http://www2.clustrmaps.com’ or anything else for that matter).

During the ‘migration’ there will definitely be a noticeable SPEEDUP (I bet you weren’t expecting to read that!). One side effect is that for a while the ‘counts’ of these affected users will temporarily DROP, because we have to disable the old counter to perform this migration. But do not worry: the data is all stored correctly and the new configuration will shortly catch up and take advantage of the new faster routines.

Many thanks to all our wonderful users and fans!
