Email about ‘big totals’ sent in error October 6, 2006Posted by ClustrMaps Team in News.
Yikes… just when we were getting to the bottom of the ‘false hit count’ problem (see earlier postings), the mistaken high numbers automatically trigerred a huge number of emails, first saying “Oops… your ClustrMaps visit count has a problem”, or eventually “Please reply or upgrade re large ClustrMaps visit count”.
Please ignore these, as they are a 100% artifact of the counting problem [the mistake is easily recognised because it shows “yesterday 1-day count” = “all-time total count”, which is obviously incorrect – but do not worry, becasue the original database entries are all preserved]; we are still on the case, and apologise profusely.
As we have commented previously, for any paying (ClustrMaps+) users inadvertently affected by this, or anyone who upgraded when they didn’t want to, we will of course be happy to discuss with you any reimbursements, extensions of your ClustrMaps+ status, and so on! Refunds will be “no questions asked”, no hassle… just give us a while to settle down… thanks!
