Sneak preview of new registration code… September 21, 2006Posted by ClustrMaps Team in News.
HOORAY! An additional fast server has now been rolled out and is fully up and running. In fact, even though at this moment (late on 21st September 2006) ‘new self-registrations’ via our normal registrations page are temporarily closed, there is some excellent news to report (at last): starting right now, anyone responding to an email invitation from a friend (see instructions in our FAQ) will
- be registered automatically on this newest server
- have 3 options for different kinds of HTML to put on your site: (“recommended”, “simple”, and “advanced”)
- only require a 10% increase in the number of displayed dots to warrant fresh map generation (new users don’t need to worry about this anyway… all is explained in the FAQ)
The next step will be to open up the process to self-registration (without requiring ‘invitations’) over the next 2 days, and then beyond that we will begin migrating older users to the new server also to be able to benefit from the new speed and more lenient updating rules. No code changes are required at all for any existing users who want to ‘stay put’.
